We are still debating how many years the Fiddlers have had the honor to take the stage at the 20th Michigan Irish Music Festival. One thing we don’t debate on is “Thank You” to the entire Michigan Irish Music Fest organization for inviting the Fiddlers. To the Fiddlers it’s so much more than just a concert it’s a list of opportunities: to enjoy, to learn, and to share music that builds friendships with more than just our community. Thank you to Michigan Irish Music Festival and all the volunteers. Happy 20th Birthday MIMF and look forward to the next 20!

The 14th Annual Fiddle Fest has come to a close. The Middle Fiddlers, The Fiddlers and featured guest AnDro gave us an amazing performance and successful event. Thank you to all the parent volunteers, to Walk The Beat for sponsoring the Fiddle Fest workshop with AnDro, and featured guests AnDro.
The Middle Fiddlers, directed by Mr. Nick Mosley, gave their first performance of the year which did not sound like a first performance. The Middle Fiddlers are a young talented group performed a job well done.
The Fiddlers, directed by Mrs. Kelly DeRose, performed a updated amazing set since the Michigan Irish Music Fest with new songs, new versions and some classic tunes this class of Fiddlers have fine tuned. The Senior performance of the Parting Glass showed us we are losing large group of talented students but the amazing performance shows the group has amazing depth of talent.
The featured guest AnDro finished the night with an amazing set. If you not seen AnDro you really owe it to yourself to check them out live. Its like AnDro is a freight train on a Celtic journey taking on the rhythms of the valleys of the world its passing by; very powerful, fun and enjoyable. AnDro finished the night with the Middle Fiddlers and Fiddlers on stage together.
Some photos of the night are below and more can be found on our Flickr page.

Norton Shores, Michigan – February 4, 2015
The Mona Shores Fiddlers will entertain their audience with traditional fiddle tunes on Saturday, February 21, beginning at 7 PM at the Mona Shores High School Performing Arts Center. The Fiddle Festival, now in it’s 13th year, has featured The Moxie Strings, Oat Bran Boys, and Finvarra’s Wren. This year, the Fiddlers are excited to invite Peat in the Creel to the stage.
Peat in the Creel are five dynamic musicians from the West Coast of Michigan who individually have been performing at festivals, music venues, pubs, and events all over the MidWest for many years. Collectively, Peat in the Creel creates and performs Celtic music from the heritage-rich regions of Ireland, Scotland, Cape Breton, and Galicia. Peat in the Creel features Toby Bresnahan (vocals, guitar, bouzouki, and mandolin), Mike Mulder (bodhran), Alison Myers (flutes, whistles, and vocals), Regina Kate Cobean (fiddle), and Griffin Cobean (bouzouki, whistles, and small pipes).
The students involved in the Fiddle Festival have a unique opportunity to work closely with Peat in the Creel in an afternoon session prior to the concert. The workshop has been funded by a generous grant from the Walk the Beat Foundation, an organization established to promote music education opportunities to the youth of West Michigan.
The concert will begin with the Mona Shores Middle Fiddles under the direction of middle school director Nick Mosley.
