Congratulations to the 7th grade, 8th grade, Concert, and Chamber Orchestras on their performances at the Michigan School Band and Orchestra District 7 Orchestra Festival at Grand Haven yesterday. Each group performed for a panel of four expert adjudicators who rated the groups in the five areas of Tone, Intonation, Rhythm, Interpretation, and Technique. The middle school groups and the Chamber Orchestra earned a Superior rating and the Concert Orchestra earned an Excellent rating. Well done!!

Dear Parents and Community,
My name is Kirk McBrayer and I am currently a music education 
major in my final year of study at Grand Valley State University. During this semester, I will be student teaching at Mona Shores Public Schools under the direction and supervision of Kelly De Rose and Nick Mosley. As a student teacher working in both middle and high school academic settings, I will be striving to improve and build upon my current teaching practices. It is my intention to provide quality teaching that is effective, appropriate, and sufficiently meets the needs of all students. Safety, respect, and inclusivity are essential components of teaching that I value and take seriously. Teaching with these things in mind will ensure a productive and positive experience for students and myself. Continuing to develop the fundamentals of musicianship, displaying professionalism in the classroom, setting and achieving personal musical goals, and understanding the importance as a member of an ensemble are goals that I aim for all students to accomplish. I am grateful for the unique opportunity of being able to teach and receive mentorship in a such a well-respected school district as Mona Shores, and look forward to what lies ahead. I pledge to always give your students my best and am confident we will all have a lot of fun learning together throughout this experience!

Spaghetti Dinner
A Spooktacular Thank you
The costumes are hung, the pumpkins are beginning to weep, the belly is full of candy, and its almost time to eat spaghetti. The Spooktacular and Fall Concerts were concerts were two successful nights with great sounding performances, fun costumes, and yummy Domino’s Pizza dinners.
Thank you and congratulations to the students and directors for the two nights of fall entertainment. Thank you to all our parents, friends, family, and orchestra supporters with the fundraising activities so far this fall for the High School Chamber Orchestra to go to the National Orchestra Festival. Thank you to all the parents & students that volunteered on the concerts nights to make this all happen. Thank you to Alexis Liddle for organizing all the volunteers. Thank you to Kim Wells for bring the pizza dinner idea and coordination with Domino’s.

Tickets are $6.50 each (4 years and under are free) Pop, Juice Boxes, Water Bottles, Cookies and Brownies will also be sold for $1 each. Reservations requested but not required.
