Bob De Rose is originally from Hoffman Estates, IL, a northwest suburb of Chicago, IL. De Rose moved to Michigan in 1991 to attend Western Michigan University where he earned a BS from the College of Engineering. He has lived and worked across West Michigan working as a manufacturing engineer for Michigan Automotive Compressors, Herman Miller, Behr, and Dana/Mahle; as a Realtor with Greenridge Realty; and is now pursuing a Web Design Degree from Muskegon Community College. In 2001, De Rose began rehabbing homes and became a rental property owner forming Dnal & Emoh Real Estate Solutions, LLC. In 2006, De Rose and other partners formed Derby Real Estate Solutions, LLC. Both companies properties are located in Grand Rapids. De Rose is a member of the Kent County Rental Property Owners Association. As Michigan’s manufacturing base changed, De Rose took the opportunity to earn his Michigan State Real Estate License, and is now a Realtor ® with Greenridge Realty in Muskegon. As a Realtor ®, De Rose has continued his real estate education with the following classes Residential Relocation, Landlord-Tenant Law, EPA Renovation, Repair, and Painting, Rehab and Flipping for Profit, and earned a e-Pro Certification from the National Association of Realtors. De Rose has lived in Kalamazoo, Holland, Battle Creek, Grand Rapids and now in Muskegon. He is very familiar with West Michigan, which has helped him sell and list properties throughout the region. De Rose now lives with his loving wife, Kelly, in the Muskegon area.

Congratulations and thank you to Abbe Grevious – Violin, Ezekiel Kinney – Violin, and Kendra Robbins – Cello for representing Mona Shores Orchestra at the Meyer Music All Star Orchestra at Caledonia High School on Nov. 22, 2014.

The students participated in a day of workshops with a performance at the end of the day under the direction of John Varineau, who is the Associate Conductor of the Grand Rapids Symphony.

2014 Magazine Sale

The orchestra program’s annual magazine sale has been kicked off. Students should have brought home paperwork including a catalog, order forms, and reach out booklet. Please take a moment to renew your existing subscription or order a new title either on an order form or on-line at www.gaschoolstore.com. Enter our code 2520013 when placing an order. The sale will conclude on Monday, October 13, with all paper orders due at this time.

Fiddlers and the Farmers Market

The Mona Shore Fiddlers will be performing Saturday, October 4th, at the Muskegon Farmers Market from 10:00 AM – Noon.

Come get your local produce, meats, bake goods, flowers, cookies, lunch, etc. oh and some good music!!!  If you are one of the few  who have not been to the new Muskegon Farmers Market this is a good excuse to get there.

High School Fiddle Gig Reminder

Attention Fiddlers – Please remember our first performance is Thursday, Aug 28 with a call time of 6 PM at the Mona Lake Boat Club.  We are joining Uneven Ground and entertaining members of the Irish American Society at their summer barbecue.  Although this event is not open to the public, parents of fiddlers may attend and may wish to bring a lawn chair.  Please wear your green fiddle shirt and remember to bring a music stand if you need one (I will bring chairs for our cellists).  Our set list includes: John Ryan (AABB, Solo 1, AB, Solo2, AABB), Star of the County Down (AB, Verse 1 vocal solo, All sing Chorus, Vocal solo 2, All sing chorus, AB, Break, AB), Sally Gardens (Leah and Paul kick off, all join in on B, vocal solo, all play AB, vocal solo 2, all play AB), Road to Lisdonvarna & Swallowtail (AABB, pennywhistle solo, AABB, 5x’s Swallowtail).  See you soon!

Welcome Back

This week begins the back to school process with High School registration and Middle School Ports of Call.  The MSOPA welcomes back orchestra students to a new school year, and also welcomes Mona Shores Alumn Mr. Nick Mosely as the new Middle School Orchestra Director. Mr. Mosely will be teaching Campbell and Lincoln Park 5th Grade Orchestra, 6th Grade Orchestra, & 8th Grade Orchestra.

Middle School: Ports of Call – Early Registration:

Tuesday, Aug. 19 – 6th grade
Wednesday, Aug. 20 – 7th/8th grade
9 am – noon ; 3 pm – 6 pm
Make-Up Date:
Tuesday, Aug. 26, 4 pm – 6 pm
